Reports of UN Special Rapporteurs

UN Special Rapporteurs are individuals working on behalf of the United Nations within the scope of the 'Special Procedures' mechanisms, who bear a specific mandate from the UN Human Rights Council, either a country mandate or a thematic mandate.

Special Rapporteurs often conduct fact finding missions to countries to investigate allegations of human rights violations. They also regularly release reports on human rights issues within their mandate that are of particular concern. The UN Special Rapporteurs on Torture, on the Right to Health and on the Right to Education have all released reports on issues affecting the rights of persons with disabilities.
