La ley General de Salud, No. 42-01 fue promulgada el 8 de marzo de 2001 por el Congreso Nacional de la República Dominicana. El objetivo de la ley es regular todas las acciones que permitan al Estado hacer efectivo el derecho a la salud de la población, reconocido en la Constitución de la República Dominicana.
