La ley número 227 del año 1999, denominada “Ley para la Implantación de la Política Pública en Prevención del Suicidio” tiene como objetivo establecer e implantar la política pública dirigida a atender el problema de comportamiento suicida, y de crear la Comisión para la Implantación de la Política Pública en Prevención del Suicidio, establecer sus deberes y responsabilidades y asignar recursos fiscales.The Act No. 227 of 1999, so-called ‘Act on the Implementation of Public Policy in Suicide Prevention’ aims at establishing and implementing the public policy designated to address the problem of suicidal behaviour in Puerto Rico. It also aims at creating the Commission for the Implementation of the Suicide Prevention Public Policy, establishing its duties and responsibilities and allocating its fiscal resources.
