조선민주주의인민공화국 아동권리보장법은 아동권리보장제도를 더욱 공고발전시켜 사회생활, 교육, 보건, 가정, 사법분야를 비롯한 모든 분야에서 아동의 권리와 리익을 최대로 보장하는데 이바지한다.
본 법은 총 6장 62조로 구성되어있다. 본 법률의 6장은 다음의 주제들로 구성되어있다: 1) 아동권리보장법의 기본; 2) 사회생활분야에서의 아동권리보장; 3) 교육, 보건분야에서의 아동권리보장; 4) 가정에서의 아동권리보장; 5) 사법분야에서의 아동권리보장; 6) 아동권리보장사업에 대한 지도통제.
