L'objectif de la politique est d'améliorer l’état de santé et le bien-être de la population en réduisant la morbidité et la mortalité liées aux maladies non transmissibles et leurs complications.
Les objectifs specifiques sont les suivants:
- Appuyer la surveillance intégrée des MNT par la réalisation d’enquête STEPP tous les trois ans
- Réduire la prévalence des décès prématurés et des incapacités dus aux MNT par le renforcement des mesures de prévention à tous les niveaux de la pyramide sanitaire
- Renforcer la qualité de prise en charge des MNT dans les structures de santé à tous les niveaux de la pyramide sanitaire
- Soutenir les activités de recherche visant à définir des interventions communautaires efficaces, et intégrant le secteur de la phytothérapie traditionnelle;
- Renforcer le partenariat entre les différents intervenants dans la lutte contre les MNT ;
- Assurer le suivi-évaluation des activités du programme.

The specific objectives are the following:
- Supporting integrated NCD surveillance by conducting survey every three years
- Reducing the prevalence of premature death and disability due to NCDs by strengthening preventive measures at all levels of the health pyramid
- Enhancing the quality of care for NCDs in health facilities at all levels of the health pyramid
- Supporting research to develop effective community interventions, and integrating the field of traditional herbal medicine;
- Strengthening partnerships between the various stakeholders fighting against NCDs;
- Ensure the monitoring and evaluation of program activities.
