Description

The purposes of this Act are to protect children from harm, to promote the integrity of the family and to ensure the welfare of children. This Act contains provisions for the care and protection of children and mandatory reporting of child abuse. It also revises an earlier law governing foster care and day care, and makes supplementary provisions for child protection and care. In the administration and interpretation of this Act the welfare of the child shall be the paramount consideration.
