La Política Nacional para la Inclusión Social de las Personas con Discapacidad tiene por objeto “contribuir a la generación de una cultura de respeto y resguardo de los derechos de las personas con discapacidad física, sensorial, mental y multidéficit, promoviendo su participación efectiva en la vida cívica, educacional, económica, social y cultural, dentro de un marco que garantice a los principios de igualdad de oportunidades, corresponsabilidad, respeto a la diversidad, autonomía, diálogo social, y territorialidad, que permitan su plena inclusión social”.
