Estas recomendaciones están dirigidas a las áreas cuya función es la atención de la salud mental en los hospitales generales y en los hospitales pediátricos, materno-infantiles e instituciones especializadas en el abordaje de adolescentes. Independientemente que dicho área sea institucionalmente denominada “servicio” o funcione bajo otra denominación.
El servicio de salud mental de un hospital general recibirá y brindará respuesta a todas las problemáticas de salud mental y adicciones y a toda la población objetivo que concurra al nosocomio.
