Nous lançons le Plan National de Développement pour la période 2018-2027 (PND Burundi 2018-2027) au moment où le Burundi connaît des avancées dans les domaines politique, économique et social. En effet, l’avènement et le renforcement de la démocratie ont permis la réinstauration du climat de confiance et la culture du patriotisme au sein de la population. De commun accord avec le peuple burundais, le Gouvernement vient de se doter de ce nouvel instrument de planification stratégique pour conduire le Burundi vers l’émergence à l’horizon 2027.
L’objectif à long terme de ce Plan vise à rétablir les équilibres structurels de l’économie burundaise à travers: (i) le renforcement de l’autosuffisance alimentaire et la diversification des exportations à travers la promotion des entreprises agro-industrielles, commerciales et extractives; (ii) le développement du secteur de l’énergie et du secteur de l’artisanat, (iii) la construction et l’entretien des infrastructures d’appui à la croissance ; (iv) l’amélioration de l’accès aux services sociaux de base notamment l’éducation, la santé et la protection sociale, (v) la poursuite des programmes de protection de l’environnement et de l’aménagement du territoire ; (vi) l’amélioration de la gouvernance financière et la décentralisation (vii) le développement du partenariat régional et international.

We are launching the National Development Plan for the 2018-2027 period (PND Burundi 2018-2027) at a time when Burundi is experiencing progress in the political, economic and social fields. Indeed, the advent and strengthening of democracy have enabled the re-establishment of the climate of trust and the culture of patriotism among the population. By mutual agreement with the Burundian people, the Government has just acquired this new strategic planning instrument to lead Burundi towards emergence by 2027.
The long-term objective of this Plan aims to restore the structural balance of the Burundian economy through: (i) strengthening food self-sufficiency and diversifying exports through the promotion of agro-industrial, commercial and mining; (ii) development of the energy sector and the craft sector; (iii) construction and maintenance of growth support infrastructure; (iv) improving access to basic social services, in particular education, health and social protection, (v) continuing environmental protection and land use planning programs; (vi) improving financial governance and decentralization (vii) developing regional and international partnerships.
