La decidida opción del Plan de Salud Mental de Aragón por la atención comunitaria, que no renuncia a los avances y aportaciones de otras orientaciones asistenciales, lleva implícito un servicio regional de salud mental de cobertura universal, equitativo y basado en la participación,
que ofrezca asistencia integral, coordinada y centrada en el enfermo y en la continuidad de sus cuidados, tal como se contempla en la Ley General de Sanidad y la Ley de Salud de Aragón.
