The Mauritanian Government and its partners agreed in mid-2010 to develop a National Health Development Plan (PNDS) covering the medium term and being a basis for any health action in the country.

Before the adoption of this plan, a situation analysis process of health in Mauritania has been undertaken, in a participatory and multi-sectoral approach, involving all stakeholders (Services of the Ministry of Health at different levels, PTF sector, related sectors, civil society, private sector ...).
